Jesus has no hands on this earth to serve, but your hands… Jesus said in John 14:12 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

The church collectively has incredible potential as we fulfill His will in our lives following in His footsteps, surrendering our hands into His hands, serving as He would serve, loving as He would love, forgiving as he would forgive.  Jesus said, “greater works than these (what Jesus did on this earth) shall he do;”

I just wanted to take a brief moment to express my deepest sentiments of gratitude and appreciation for our church’s labor of love for our Lord and Savior this past Sunday in our “I Love His Church Sunday” and ministry fair.  You truly represented the Hands of Jesus in servitude!

It was absolutely incredible!  The souls that were saved were His miracles! The music was God-glorifying, Christ-centered, and Spirit-filled!  This day was used by God to reach many people in being exposed to the Lord’s work and to be engaged and involved in His service.  I know it was a long day and your lunch was not as enjoyable as those who sat down with the congregation in the gym.  I thank you for your sacrifice to further the cause of Christ, the kingdom of God, and ultimately to perpetuate the gospel of our Lord.

I praise God for you and your commitment to Him and His church.  Thank you to every church secretary, food worker, nursery worker, Sunday school teacher, junior church teacher/preacher, bus worker, usher/greeter, ministry fair representative, choir member, p.a. man, orchestra & instrumentalist, every special vocalist, custodial team, golf cart driver, set-up & clean-up crew… the list is truly endless of the countless committed people involved in His kingdom at BBC.  Your pastor loves you all!  If you ever need anything, please let me know.

Continue surrendering your hands into Jesus’ hands at home as you serve your family in love and wisdom, as you work with co-laborers, as you shop this week.  Let’s show everyone the love of His nail pierced hands through our crucified flesh and Spirit-filled life.

I was meditating on this verse today in regards to you and your help on Sunday:   Psalm 118:23 “This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.”  Interestingly enough, one of Noah Webster’s definitions for marvelous from 1828 is:

  • surpassing credit
  • exciting wonder
  • or some degree of surprise

In other words, This is the Lord’s doing and it surpasses anybody taking the credit for it… it is so wonderful, great, and surprisingly awesome that there is no human explanation for it.  So God decided to use the word marvelous to describe it!  Therefore, it does not surpass His credit!  It is the Lord’s doing!  I enjoy watching Him do His marvelous work through you!  Thank You Bible Baptist Church!!!  Have a great, grand, and glorious day in God!

your servant,

Bill Schutt
